I'm watching this game tonight in the third period only. The old school Bruins jerseys from the late 60s/early 70s look awesome. I keep having flashbacks to the Gahden and the Bruins beating up on my favorite team as a kid, the Rangers. After the Rangers traded Park to the Bruins, oh that's a story for another day.

Anyway, everybody knows the two plays by now. Van Masenhoven's non-call on Kessel's outside-inside move and then Walsh's call at the other end that leads to the winning goal with 1.2 seconds left in the game. This was the perfect example of everyone's rants here lately about the refs this season. I haven't seen as many games so far as last year at this time but this one summed up the problems I have been reading about. I guess it will just get worse before it gets better. The NHL guys in the Toronto War-Room better solve this problem quickly. Its a mess.

Yeah they were brutal most of the game, questionable calls, 2 players ejected from the game for agumenting the calls.

I forgot to mention the slash by Koivu to PJ's hand right in front of the net which would have been right in front of Van. What happened to once your stick left the ice and touched the opponent's body it was a penalty? Old time hockey is on its way back. Well, the NEW NHL lasted a year...........OK..........

NNHL hockey is hit and miss. Watching all these games it changes. It's like they've determined certain players hook and hold (usually smaller players downlow or goons) and call them more than the others.

It was exagerated... Do you deserve a 10min for saying fuck off and hitting the ice with your stick? I don't think so.

I didn't see it, but a guy at hockey tonight referred to it as a "hissy fit" there must have been more to it than just "F you!"

Rivet clearly said FO to the ref and then hit his stick on the ice he got a two for hooking and a two for unsportsman like conduct.

It was Kovalev who got the game misconduct. I missed that one too, checking my eyelids for cracks  . They said he had a little "spell", and something about slaping his stick over the boards.

Kovalev escaped two questionnable hits on him, the last one he got hit on his leg a bit by the Boston Bruins guy sticking his knee out some bit. He took a fit, hit the glass with his stick as he gave the umps some shit. They toosed him out for that. He did have a valid point though but it seems the referees didn't see it like that.

i thought it was ridiculous that kovalev got thrown out, i would understand if the ref missed one knee but two!...come on

When Primeau went by Kovalev it was clearly ankle on ankle and Primeau even took all the weight off his right leg before the contact and tried to get his leg out of the path of Kovalev. That was the only 'questionable' hit I saw on Kovalev on that shift. Other than that, it was Kovalev who tried to come up high on Chara earlier on the shift.

How can you go high on Chara and not get called??? It would be so obvious.
