Graf toe caps

Recommended Posts

if you want to stretch the toe cap itself, my graf rep told us that if you are careful, you can use a heat gun. to be honest, i don't have the balls to try it.

Ok, so I heat it up then what? What should I use to do stretch them with after I heat it up?

You need a ball stretch Blademaster or Blackstone have them. a good shop should have one.

So I can have a pro shop do this for me?

My LHS is telling me I cant widen or stretch my toe caps. Would I be able to send my skates somewhere that knows how to do it? Any suggestions would be great?

Anyone know a place around Vancouver that will stretch out Grafs as well? My usual shop says it's not possible.

What's your usual shop? I usually go to Cyclone on Oak and I've had them do some heating and stretching of different boots in the past for me. They're also a Graf dealer so they should know what they're doing.

Try Scoff's shop. I don't know if they will do it, but they are really knowledgeable.

Forgot about them. Thanks. I'll give them a ring.

I actually stopped by the Oak Street Cyclone and was told that it's possible to widen the toecaps, but not lengthen them.

FWIW...when I had the toe caps stretched on my XXXX's the guy at the shop said that the plastic used in the Graf toe caps is much easier to stretch and manipulate.

They use a heat gun and a ball bress.

Would the Graf toecap be particularly susceptible to separating from the skate somehow compared to other skates?

Far less so, actually. It requires lower temperatures and less force to stretch them, so the risk of detaching the outsole from the toecap is much less.

Even if it does separate, it's a really, REALLY easy fix.
