Poor Denis, he doesn't deserve the fate that awaits him.

Some of us have been wondering why he wasn't named head coach years ago. As much as I disliked the way Yawney used players and ran the team, you have to feel bad for him in this one. They were a one line team that lost all three members of that line at various times, including Handzus for the rest of the season.

I think it was just a question of time that Denis Savard would become the coach of the Hawks. I think he was also on the short list for Montreal a year ago and he was probably one the 5 that Carbonneau had in mind before going with Kirk Muller as assistant coach.

It's such a pity that franchise is run so poorly. An original six team, in a great sports city and look at the state of it. Ugh.
