jmiro 55 Report post Posted December 19, 2006 the movie slap shot was based on the johnstown cheifs. I used to play summer league there. They would take half the glass down, so all that was left was the glass behind the net. they also turned half their systems off. The fog would get so thick you couldnt see from the blue line to the net. we would have to take time outs and all skate in a circle around the rink to get the fog to lift. Talk about aweful surface.
