1/2 Shallow Sharpening

Just wondering those of you who get your skates sharpened this way?

and

If so...How often do you get them sharpened?

For me its every 2 skates so about 180 min of use I get them sharpened.

1 1/4 for me, i do them every other week or so

I use 9/16ths, but could probably go a bit shallower as im a hefty fella. I usually get them done every 5-6 icetimes.
