How far of a drive is it from Helena, Montana to..

I'm going to be in Helena, Montana the 3rd week of January and would like to trek up to either Calgary or Edmonton to catch a NHL game, just wondering if anyone knows how far the drive is?

Google maps and mapquest don't tell you anything about highway conditions or traffic though. I've driven from Edmonton to Fort McMurray probably 100 times, and it definitely doesn't come out to 5 hours and 19 minutes all the time, nor even close. In the winter sometimes it can take 8 or 9 hours because highway 63 gets clogged down by logging trucks and shit in the ditch. Mapquest doesn't factor for weather. Bank on about 5 hours to get from Edmonton to Rexall Place, find parking, and get in.

Helena to Calgary should probably take you 7 or 8 in the winter and to get across the border.

And if you're going to try and see a game, get tickets early. You will need to buy them soon or you'll only be able to pick up single seats. Go to Edmonton though, the atmosphere in the building is way better.

Well, i cant help you with the Montana to Calgary, but Calgary to Edmonton is about 3 and a half hours. But your never gonna see a cop on that highway, so the speed limit is generally 130 minimum B)
