New Graf Ultras for 2007

I saw a sample of the Ultra G35. It did not have t-blades. The new polyamid Cobra UL5000 holder/blade combo was mounted.

indaslot - the numbers refer only to the shape and fit of the boot, not the quality.

are there noticeable differences between the cobra 5000 and 3000 holders? im wearing the 3000s, and they feel fine but the plastic stripped where the screw holds the steel in place. the runner comes loose every few skates

You may feel the difference in stiffness but the big difference is in durability. The plastic on the 3000s tend to absorb water and get bent out of shape over time.

I was under the impression that the Ultra G-70 was just a euro G-5, and that it wouldn't be released in the US/Canada.

I am also interested in when these skates will be coming out, I heard the ultra G-3 will be the next for release...which is what I need. I definitely need new skates, but I can survive for a while with my current ones...would you recommend waiting for the ultras? The G3 is what I am looking at, but don't want to drop the cash and then have an improved version hit the market soon after when I could have just waited...unless there's no big difference.

Also, if I went for custom Grafs, would I be able to get the ultra g3 as the base model..? Don't know if you have the answers to these questions, but my local Graf retailer hasn't been too helpful in these matters.

You could always order G3s with the ultra liner and the 5000 holder and the clear outsole and if you prefer the regular tongue order with that tongue

G7 will likely be based on the 707 skate- designed for maximum forward flex in the ankles- a concept similar to Mission's Supplefit/Fuel AG line of skates. Basically it's softer up top and the upper part of the boot is actually separate from the lower part. Pretty cool if you ask me. A friend of mine has them, I'm sure he'll be excited to hear about the Ultra G7s.

I know someone else asked, but it wasn't answered- any word on Ultra G9s? I have thick fat feet =/

When I saw the UG5 last year I started drooling over the thought of the UG7. I can't wait to check them out.

Actually Graf had a lot of issues with durability with the old G5s, so they started over with the G5 Ultras, hoping to fix the durability issues and get their good name back.

If that was true, why haven't they fixed any of the problems with 700 series skates? There's new tech in the UltraG series.

The boots are entirely different construction. If they were fixing durability, they would have just upgraded the existing G series and not created a totally new line.
