Flyers get Zhitnik for Meyer

But meyer had alot of potential and showed some flashes of an above average player. why couldnt they trade one of the big lumbering d-man for zhtinik. thoughts?

Joke, I though meyer was decent, and was semi-capable of matching speeds with a real NHL forward, something the rest of the Flyer D couldn't really handle.

shitnik is brutal...Guess Crosby making him look like a slob yesterday was it for his career w/ the Islanders. Things keep getting worse for Phithy, although I hear Forsberg finally had some luck w/ the skate thing recently

well ,lets see if this garth snow move pays off for the islanders.islanders need some more solid def,but right off the bat meyer is out with back problems.i havent seen meyer play yet, this move probably frees up some money,this could help alittle later up the road for playoff moves.as far as philly goes they get experience on the ice and in the locker room,good for the young players coming up.

They couldn't trade a big lumbering D-man because the Islanders were only looking for fast skating defencemen. This also saves the Islanders a total of $8million and puts them $4mil under the cap.

As to someone who said that its not good that meyers is out, this move also freed up a chance to bring up Chris Campoli.

Flyers fans will quickly get tired of all the penalties zhitnik takes, we on the island certainly did

He surprised me with how well he could match up with AO or Sid one on one. Unfortunately one on one was the only time he looked very good.
