Your First NHL Game in Person

Recommended Posts

1st one was

New Jersey @ Vancouver and the Canucks won 4-3 in 2000-2001 i believe

the best one was

Washington @ Vancouver in October. Great to see Ovechkin, Semin was absolutely shut down and lots of excitement in the game. Game went to a shootout so I got my full money's worth.

My first nhl game and only was back in the 1991 / 1992 season wenn my team was in Toronto to play a x-mas tournament.I was 14 at that time. I have a trophie were their stand " Paul Sanders Div. Bantam Champions 1992 ". We won the tournament over a team from Fossa, Finland. Great days. The nhl game was in the old Maple Leafs Garden against Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks won.

First game was in 1991, Pens/Flyers at the Civic Arena. We sat a row or two from the roof and the Penguins won. Other than that I don't remember much about the game.

NHL arenas are typically between 17,000 and 20,000 spectators. About the same size as the MEN Arena in Manchester, if you've been there before.

i think my first was in 1995, in the garden. it was the rangers vs buffalo. i remember i got a souvenir puck with the rangers logo, and started to, for some unknown reason, scratch the ranger logo off the puck. this is not a joke, and was before i even knew who the devils were. i guess i was destined

My first game was in 1992, in the Sharks 1st or 2nd year. I saw them play the Islanders, and we lost 7-0. That's back when the Sharks had the best fans to worst team ratio ever in pro sports. Pierre Turgeon had a hat trick and I remember playing as the Islanders on NHL Hockey for Sega Genesis because he was soo good. Him, Lemieux, Roenick, and Sandstrom were the best on that game...

My first game was Ottawa Vs. Pittsburgh. I'm not sure the exact year but it was when Jagr and Lemiux were on the Pengiuns. My dad took me and we got seats about 5 rows up right at the red line. I remember being amazed that there were "waiters" who came to our seats asking us if we wanted food. The best part of the game was that a guy sitting behind me went up to the penelty box and got a puck that had just been used in the game. He then came over and gave me the puck. I still have it.

I've only been to one other NHL game and it was Game 2 of the Sens vs. Lightning series last year. He had bought nice tickets from a ticket broker but the tickets didnt show. So the broker personally came to the rink and gave us tickets for free. We were in the corner in row O. So four of us each got a $135 ticket for free. I've never seen a place with so much energy it was awesome. Marty scored two goals which was the best part since I had watched him play his 4 years at UVM
