NHL 2004 Help

As always they just need to get it more Madden-like when it comes to realism and gameplay. The salary demands are insane and opposing GMs never go for "even" trades but offer you their 4th rd pick and Mike Wilson for Gomez.

Shitty as in nonexistent? I still have yet to see where they list injuries, other than the day that it happens on the scroll bar at the bottom.

Me neither, so here I am wasting upgrade points on medical staffs for it. I traded for Heatley and he saw zero ice time because of some goddamn injury.

I know what you mean. I had a prospect who turned out to be real good so I wrapped him up in a 6 year $2 mil a season deal. He gets hurt and doesn't play the last two years, but when his contract is up, he wants $10 mil a year.

And then if you remember who that team choses with their first rounder, you can sim to next season and steal him away for a third rounder.

I wonder if there are still ways to tinker with the retiring. I remember as long as you only kept two goalies they wouldn't retire, so you could have kept Roy forever.

I'm going to get a bunch of cronies and see how many actually retire or if they just keep me at the bare minimum needed.

I used to pick up a couple of older free agents that I never planned on playing in an effort to prevent my decent players from retiring. It always seemed like there was a limit on the number of guys who would retire from one team.

im sick of the glitch when the comp dumps it in, it goes off the boards to their sticks and it goes in.

plus the draft is stupid because whenver i get soemone, it takes him 2 years to reach 70, where i can instead trade the 1st rounder for someone good. i dont plan on playing hte 20 seasons that they encourage

I'd love to see them use some knock-off players for the draft. Like a fake Ovechkin and Crosby. Some of the players who are highly rated a few years in advance. I think it'd make me want to draft more, I really haven't finished a season yet becuase I keep restarting with the Fantasy drafts (in ESPN mind you).

I have to agree with YGlod on that one. They comp will shoot it straight down and off the backboards, beat everyone to it and one-time it in. Ass-goals galore in that game, especially low far-side.

It would be nice to do that, kosy. I had nothing better to do yesteday so I thought I just might sim all 20 years. It took me a good 2 and a half hours. In 2015, guys are getting around 450 points a year, it's not even funny. I won't tell what the gift you get, because it might spoil it for those of you who plan on playing all 20 years. Also, in the draft, 10 years down the road, they have the same last name as the stars of today, just the switched the first name... Joe Naslund Markus Thorton... you get the point.

The gift changes for how many experience points you end up with. I've simed it through once. If you get a good team, its fun to just sim through and do the GM stuff, but that rarely happens.

Speaking of the draft, wouldn't it be nice to be able to draft the players from the Euro leagues or at least sign them to contracts?

I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but I'm currently about 20 games into my first Dynasty league ever, playing a Hamilton based team made up from mostly Canadian and a few Swedish guys from the Euro teams, and spiced up with a couple free agents (and one trade, I got Jason Arnott in the only trade I've done so far).

Yeah I've done that before, added Euros when creating a new team. It'd just be nice to be able to sign Euro free agents midway through the Dynasty.

I don't know how many EP I had but I think it was around 5400 and I got a car.

You can do that 450 points thing in year 1 if you set the period length setting to 20 mins and sim the entire season.

Just curious here, but have you guys found any more of these weird-ass glitches? Especially ones that are deep into the Dynasty.
