Pretty good article I saw about Dana in the newspaper during training camp. Very interesting to read how many simple changes he made in a short period of time and the impact that they had on the club.

Got back from the Pens stick sale... much better than expected... picked up some pretty sweet stuff and there was a ton of good deals... everything was 75 bucks, but with brand new one pieces, thats a steal...

oh ya... the 2 sticks from the sale dont include the first 8 on the left or the first 2 on the right... sorry they kind of just got thrown in the picture... the ones from the sale are 4 sickicks, 3 ak27s, 2 fuels and a se elite...

snake what time did you get in? i got there around 220 and everything was almost gone. i think thats very shitty they advertised it for 3-6 and at 2 my buddy said people were leaving with sticks.

The Penguins should never hold a stick sale at the Marriot ever again. The advertised starting time was at 3:00 p.m., not 9:00 a.m., which is when they started letting people in. I felt really bad for this woman who was in a wheel chair and got there at 2:45 only to find out that all of the good sticks were taken.

Also, we found out that there were no Crosby or Malkin sticks at the sale at any point, so for those of you who got there late, me included, don't feel so bad.

We asked the guys at the cashier and they said that the money from this sale will go towards buying new equipment for the Pens.

i agree that it was a little shitty that they opened up early... they didn't open up at 9am like the one person said, i would estimate they opened a little after 1pm... i went to lunch with 2 buddies and we showed up around 1 and there were id say about 15 people already waiting in line, and as soon as we took our spot in line they opened the doors, much to our surprise... the guy said something about everything was ready early, there were people waiting, and they wanted to avoid a rush... my one buddy grabbed 2 righty sickicks, and the other one got a righty xxx lite and another sickick, which were about the best righties available... lucky for me im a lefty... the ak27s are whitneys, the se elite is malone, the fuels are ekman and the sickicks are max talbot. its definately true there were no crosby's or malkins, but anyone that was expecting them will always be disappointed as im positive crosby has his own memorabilia deal and i would guess malkin does too... even still they would be too valuable to just stick in a lot for 75 bucks each... from what i overheard and saw, there were 2 staals, both eastons, and 1 amrstrong... there were a few recchi warriors that went fast, but most of them had cracked blades which wouldnt interest me much... there were bunch of the new sherwood ops's, tons of synergies, some decent pairs of gloves...

which reminds me that i have to mention my one friend got the steal of the whole sale... he was looking at the glove table at some eastons when my other friend yells across the room for him to grab the rbk gloves sitting there... not only are they barely used pro model tuftek ccm gloves with a rbk pattern stiched on for 50 bucks, they're both autographed on the thumb by recchi... im not sure if they were in there by accident or what, but they're almost brand new and signed, im sure if he wanted to sell them, which i dont think he will, he could get at least 5 times that...

I got 2 unused Gonchar easton synergies, but I arrived "late", at 2:30. Those were probably the only remaining sticks which were unused.
