They should move, no matter how bad mellon is if they can't sell out every game with crosby, malkin, MAF, Stall and others they don't deserve the team.

I say keep them in Pittsburgh. Yeah, they're not selling out this season, but next season I'm guessing ticket sales will jump. Why? Because not everyone has heard about the hot players they have now. Sure, hockey fans know, but the rest of the city doesn't. Example: my one buddy who lives in Pittsburgh never used to watch it, and only half-way through the season has he begun to listen to the games, and recently he decided to go. It just takes time to get word out that the team is hot.

And Pittsburgh deserves the hockey team, not some Southwest sunny locale like Las Vegas where people don't even play ice hockey.

As much as cities like Winipeg want you to believe that they would sell out every game, fact is Winipeg never had good attendance figures. The Penguins have been getting excellent attendance and Mario knows that. His threats are just a tool for him to get the ball rolling on the arena talks.

He wants a free building. They could easily get the ball rolling by agreeing to pay a portion of the costs but they have refused to do so for quite some time.

Most places have plenty of Marquee players and still dont sell out. Being a rangers fan, I could care less if they move or not. The fans should support their team though.

Pittsburgh is not a hockey city and doesn't deserve the team. In the last 5 years the highest theyve been in leage attendance average is 16 and the worst being dead last in 30th. If Mario was smart and wanted to sell out move the team to Southern Ontario. Every game will sell out with that lineup guaranteed and if the teams in a central location like Kitchener-Waterloo they would draw from the GTA, London, Windsor, etc. Why does the NHl keep wanting the sport to grow. Im sorry but give the teams to places with real die hard hockey fans who live and bleed for the sport. I live in the GTA and havent been to a leaf game in years because the tickets are just too damn expensive for such a crappy product. Move the team to southern ontario and myself along with thousands of others would be lining up to watch sid the kid and the rest of em play every night. Kansas city is not a hockey hotbed and the sport will not grow there. Sure when the Pens start winning people will go but once the team dies down again when all the young talent leaves for greener pastures and more money attendance will drop just like it did in Pittsburgh after there 2 cups and the owners will be looking to move again. The only smart move for attendance and money would be to move the team to southern ontario.
