Looking for Composite blades with Shanahan curve...

Recommended Posts

Always liked the Shanahan curve but all the shops around here ran out of Easton ones.

I've been using a Christian Torch shaft and a #5 pattern (3/8" mid) composite Christian blade but I've gone through half a dozen blades in the last couple months.

I think Easton stopped making this curve? Is there anything current thats the same?

Thanks!

Wasn't the 106 one of their patterns before? Are they just changing the name associated with it?

You are correct the p106 is not a new curve. Gagne is just the new name.

Does anyone know what the Shanny Pro looks like?

I saw one of his warriors at a wings game in the hockeytown authentics store about a year ago, and it was a mid-curve...think retail recchi-ish.

So...... sort of like a Modano?

more heel and more open than the modano. NBH's modano clone is the PM (formerly Hossa, Now St. Louis; not to be confused with the old St. Louis.)

P106 was originally Linden, then Jokinen, now Gagne.

See why the pattern DB lists just the numbers?

Bauer P10 was discontinued, the current Bauer Gagne is the p106 and it is very different from a Shanny (heel curve, lidstromish but less extreme with a round toe).

I'm looking to get a Shanny clone, or something similar to it. From what I've read from old posts the Bauer Gagne no longer is similar to the Shanny curve. Does anyone have any other suggestions, especially given the new curves out there now?

How's the Datsyuk curve by the way?

Thanks

you could try Harrow's (Christian) #4 pattern. It's a slight toe curve with a little loft. that might be your best choice. Their blades lasted me one year.

I bought a few new Christian Torch blades in Pattern #5 (mid 3/8" 5.5) and love them. No more breakages so hopefully they'll last long enough. I also bought a couple Easton Synergy IIs in the Iginla pattern that is almost identical (its a mid 1/2" 5.5).

Thanks!

It's a rounded toe but the most similar retail curve you're going to find. The TPS P14 pro stock pattern is also the same if you happen to find one of them.

Check back with me in about a week....

I've used Shanny blades for 10 years and have quite a few stockpiled.

I've recently switch the sakic clones and....so far so good.

I may be selling my shanny stockpiles in a week or so.....all RH's, tapered, standard. Easton Shanny and Bauer P10.
