Whats the big difference between 9950 and the 5050? Is the carbon reinforment a gimmick? Does it help the stick stay "responsive"? Is better wood used in the 9950. Is it worth buying a 9950 over say a 5050?

9950 is heavier and stiffer than the 5030. I had one and it was like rebar. It was a tank, though.

Is the blade also stiffer.

The blades on the 5030 and 9950 were the same when I used to use them, though that was many years ago.

I think the main difference is that they are a couple inches longer, as well as stiffer...so better for bigger/taller guys basically. maybe I'm wrong, but this is what I determined when looking at them. it appears that length and stiffness increase with the numbers: 5000, 7000, 9000

The 9950 features a fiberglass and carbon fiber lamination in the shaft to make it stiffer, stronger, and heavier than the 5030 which is the industry standard traditional all wood shaft stick: 2 piece aspen core shaft reinforced with birch multi-lamination.
