place is called hot shots. regular seasons are over prices. $990 a team, $675 for just feet hockey.

Off topic, I know, but what do you guys usually pay for indoor roller? Around here it's $200/man at one rink and like $1400/team iirc. I figured this was about standard...

edit: wow, i didn't realize this place was outdoor hockey. That IS really high.

got an email from the guy i think its 350 a team for the tourny. I know the have a bunch of divisions. Yea its the one in march. we are all in all mid to late twenties. we are having a problem finding a goal tender. I dont want to play in net. So far there are about four of us for sure with a bunch of guys saying they will let us know. Im trying to get a hold of the guys from my area that moved to philly and baltimore. Most of us play college roller. some played some junior ice. I think when i played in willaimsport it cost about 150 a person. That is a nice rink. Actually it was better than most of the rinks we played at in tournies. There is no indoor rink here. Ice or pavement.

ive heard about hot shots but am not sure where it is - the thing that sucks is i'm about an hour away from all of them

I have a 95$/$110 (depending on the date you pay for it. sign up late and it's the higher) and that covers 2 practices, 12 games and playoffs. We have an annual membership fee of $25 for the supplemental insurance and all. 2 months for $95 has never sounded bad to me, but I don't know how long it is in comparison to other areas of the country.

Hot Shots is definately the best of them all, best surface, and just the best facility of all of them. The tournament is sponsored by ESPN Radio host Mark Madden. He did one a few months months back and it was a good tourny. I encourage all who can whod like to play to get a team together.

we could try to put a team together from this board.

Id say the fastest way to get a team together would be to first decide what age/division you intend on playing in. I havent seen any mention of this as of yet.

I might be interested in a little road trip for some hockey.

Age group would be 18+ (I'm gonna be 24 later this month)

As far as skill level I have no friggin' clue. Played a season of A/B Roller on Long Island. It was my first time playing indoor, and after the first 2 or 3 games, I adjusted to the speed and did ok, but not spectacular or anything. I was playing D and have been doing so for far too long at this point to even consider doing anything else.

If this is going to happen we should probably start doing it now. Jmiro, do you know the dates of the tourny?

Dont mean to rain on everyones parade, but i was told that the next Penguins Power Play tournament, the one you all seem to be talking about, is for youth teams only. And it is also being held at the Harmarville Bladerunners and not Hot Shots Arena. The last tournament in december was only for adult teams, so it would seem somewhat logical. i was only told this information second-hand and i cant really find anything to verify it, so there is a chance i could be wrong, but the source is a good one so i'll take his word for it. However, there are always tournaments going on in the Pittsburgh area. There are mens league tournaments, as well as regional tournaments for the major national tournament series at Harmarville, Neville Island and Hot Shots. And whoever said Hot Shots was the best rink... i mean i could see someone feeling that way if they liked Ice Court, their surface, which is incredibly slow, and the rink is also a little smaller than Neville or Harmar, but not much. Harmar would be the best by far and as good as any rink anywhere if it was cleaned more often. Neville takes good care of their rink and the surface isn't bad, but the rink is partially outdoors, which definitely sucks in the winter, and also their locker rooms dont have showers, which i hate. Neither do Hot Shots by the way... Anyway... all of the rinks are pretty good and i would recommend any of them, and they all run a decent schedule of tournaments. Hope to see some of you there.

hey i see they have a bunch of guys on here get together for an ice game. I was told it was for adults in march. If anyone else knows any tourny lets go. I emailed the guy at hot shots. I played travel college inline but im a little out of step from then. I just think it would be fun. I could probaly hook us up with a sponsor and jersey. Let me know if anyone is interested and knows of any tournaments. lets get it going. heres the address of the hot shots site. http://www.hotshotsarena.com

Ya i really wouldnt be surprised if there was a tournament around that time, there are tourneys all the time, i just dont think its associated with the Penguins or Mark Madden like their last one was. But like i said, i could be wrong. Honestly, the tournament last time was barely even associated with the Penguins, so that really shouldnt make much of a difference if any.

i just turned 25 a few weeks ago. so i'm with you on age. as long as i don't have any gigs that weekend or whatever, i'm in.

actually, we play a tourny on long island that someone we play with organizes, 4 teams, 10 'regulation' games plus playoffs. all in a row. generally an 8 hour day. if we need anyone else & you wanna do the next one, it's going to be the day before easter sunday.

What i was told is that the Penguins are planning on sponsoring another inline tournament like the one they had at hot shots this past december, only this one would be for youth teams only, and it would be held this spring at the harmarville rink, not that they actually had anything to do with the last one other than putting their name on it. that one was also hosted with Mark Madden, but maybe the penguins dont want to be associated with him, which would not be a surprise...

I never doubted that there could be a tournament at hot shots in march as there are tournaments going on all the time around here as i said... im sure the tournament will draw some good teams though just as it did in december.

as for mark madden, huge huge bag of douche... both on the radio and in person...
