Best Feeling Int. Stick

Recommended Posts

Jason I agree with you completely, right now I feel like my CNT's are giving me the best feel out of any OPS I've used. I love that crisp, "precise"" feel as you mentioned. I feel that with an ultra stiff blade I can always tell exactly where the puck is on my tape due to how responsive it is. Also, I've never felt that me catching or not catching passes was due to my stick, regardless of what I use. The first synergy, which apparently required a softer blade face because no one could catch passes with it (SiCore), never gave me an issue.

Then I have a weird CNT. Mine feels like a marshmallow <_<

Indeed you do.......Even when passing the puck a quick snap of the wrists throws a bullet off the face wherever I want. Like everything else however, it's all personal preference. I know a countless number of players who love the soft feel of wood and certain OPS's on the market.

It's definitely all personal preference. That's why a question like this is so hard to answer. We can only give our opinions.

Feel is so subjective. Some people like a stick that dampens the puck alot, like a Warrior or a wood stick. I myself like the "feel" of a stick that has what I call a more "precise" feel (a stick that doesn't dampen so much), such as a Synergy SL. If you are looking for a balance between the two sides I have described, try the XXX-Lite. It has just enough dampening and still has a "hot" or fairly explosive blade face. I find that Easton has the "hottest" or most explosive blade in hockey. Granted, I haven't tried all sticks and blades, but that is what I have found. I've used such sticks as the Easton Synergy SL, Stealth, Stealth CNT, Vapor XXX, XXX-Lite, Warrior Dolomite, Innovative 1100, TPS Response, TPS XN10, Mission Hex-1 and a few wood sticks. The SL and Stealth had the best kick on shots IMO. I also use an 85 flex most of the time.

Great post. How did you find the feel on your Xn10, I also have a MacDaddy and I must say my SL blades felt much better, although SL's really do suck unless you have an unlimited supply of them.

I am using a Bauer One70 INT 67 flex. It feels IDENTICAL to wood because of the Reack Blade. Trust me if you are looking for feel go to this stick. It wont set your wallet back to much either.

zinNergy,

I have a hard time remembering how the blade of my XN10 felt. I only used it for about a month and that was about 2 years ago now. I remember the stick having a fair bit of kick on it. I do remember that when I replaced it with the first generation Stealth that I definitely liked the Easton better, feel wise and for shooting. Sorry I can't be of more assistance, but I can't really remember much about the XN10's feel. It wasn't bad though. I used a Rubber Response for a bit and also tried a Response plus and I remember those sticks as having good feel for me. They cushioned the puck enough so that it wouldn't just bounce of the blade, but not so much that it made the sticks shoot poorly.

I was just wondering because I just picked up a whip Xn10 for a good price and I've heard nothing but positive comments about them. I just wanted a little opinion, but It wasn't really necessary for me, I just got a couple shots off in the warmup of a game so far, and Im not used to the curve at all yet ( it's a nash, but thankfully It's less open than a sakic and alot different than the others I've seen, but its about a 3/8" curve that will take some getting used to coming from a Robitaille MacDaddy). There were no other whip ones left so I lucked out.

I like more lively blades as well, because the dampering of a wood blade or composite isn't as important to me because I am quite skilled at cushioning hard passes and I usually don't need much dampering. But many people define 'feel' as different things (now after reading this my initial answer is not seemingly enough, which is the responsiveness and percision of stickhadling with the blade of the stick. (I think they should make an MSH dictionary for, some "hockey lingo deprived personnel"(HLDP))). I catagorize this by knowing that the livlier the blade is, the more feel I will have when playing. This is all my personal preference and by no means is correct for another player. Hell if I know, I don't think I've used a wood stick in 4 years!
