Recommended Posts

I wuold like to buy an item. we set up a deal for a buy it now price.

but since there's a bid on it. and he auction end in 2 days.

he ask me to send a payment of 170$ on his paypal adress and after he would end the item right after my payment.

He has a feedback of 95. so i can say i has trust in him but.. still

Can I still be protected by paypal by doing so?

Thanks you.

If the audtion doesn't have a "Buy It Now" option...I don't think you are allowed to make deals outside of the actual auction. If he/she adds a BIY button and you purchase it that way at the agreed price, I'm pretty sure you'd be protected by the ebay buying agreement. I'd make sure that you have the e-mails to show your price was agreed on...just in case.

Didn't you get burned in an ebay purchase a while back?

The seller can end the item early, even if there are bids on it. SO, it's his prerogative to do so, but chances are you can probably get it cheaper if you actually bid on it (no way the seller will low ball the price, so he must think it will go for less.)

But then again, if you DO decide to go through with it, and you DO get burned (which can happen, especially, I suppose, with deals like this), you can take action through PayPal or your credit card company.

Though I agree with All Torhs, it seems to be pretty low, only since somebody already put a bid on it.

-Yes, i got burn once for selling a laptop. not buying something. i see that paypal protect the buyer not the seller.

bid are at 125 and there is 10 bid already, 2 days left.

he ask me to give him 150 plus 20 for shipping..

so im sure by letting running the auction he could get more than 150..

Remember that huge thread about you getting ripped off from paypal from some bum seller?

Yea..

Exactly, don't even bother with this cobraa. Yes, maybe the guy's legit and would make a side deal but who knows if PayPay/eBay would oversee that. It's not worth the risk of this guy taking your money and leaving the auction up, so just bid and hope it falls through.
