Higher cut boots?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have Graf 705's 11w, and I love the fit of the foot, but not the upper ankle area.

The more I skate in them I am noticing they are a low cut boot and no matter how hard I yank on the laces, there seems to be alot of "slop" from side to side. When I got myself into these skates I thought I wanted a lower cut boot, but it turns out it's not working for me.

So, I want suggestions from you guys (and gals) on what boots out there are the highest cut.

I'm looking for something very high cut with lots of medial/lateral stiffness and good ankle padding. I like alot of forward flex, but I can just leave an eylet or two undone if needed. I want to eliminate the side to side slop.

Ideally I want something wide in the forefoot, but I'll figure out fit on my own I just need suggestions for a stiff- high-cut boot.

I'm open to any brand skate at this point, and I'll put mission pitch holders on.

Thanks in advance!

Been doing some research and the Nike's are supposed to fit wide and be high cut, any comments?

Any others?

Nike skates have a very high cut boot. Go to your local hockey shop and try on a few pair.

OK, I think I've narrowed it down to the flexlites and the Rbk's. I don't know of anyone around here that has the flexlite's in stock for me to try on. I have been fitted for a 10.5D Rbk, but at that time I chose the graf's 'cause I didn't like the idea of the pump. I think I do remember them being a higher cut boot than the graf's though.

I'm thinking of ordering like a 6k rollerblade since my season's almost over and giving them a whirl during the off-season. If I like them I would then get some 9k's for ice next fall.

Contacted Kor about the Shift 2.

Sorry for the extra topic Chadd

Can anyone tell me which is more durable, the flexlite or Rbk?

Also a suggestion on size of the flexlite, I wear a 705 11w, and have been fitted for a 10.5D Rbk.

if you can find a Supreme 70 or 8090 it should give you a similar sizing gauge..i went from 10.5EE in nearly every skate on the market to a 10D flexlite 12 for both ice and roller
