Ive found that the cloth gives it a little too much grip. Im a big fan of just rubbing friction tape or the tacky side of cloth tape on the shaft which gives it a perfect grip.

I tryed it and thought the same as others (does not last). I have been using POW R GRIP spray for the last 3 years until I recently tryed Grip Dip. It's the best stuff I've tryed yet.

If your not looking for a super grip......

I've done this for the past few months.

Most of the non-grip sticks I get a very shiny and slick when they're brand new.

I take a can of spray laquer....clear semi-gloss works for me......and I spray the portion of my stick where I want the grip.

It doesn't give me grip like say max stick um.....but it does give me a little bit more grip than sliding down the shaft of the shiny slick brand new shaft.

Give it a try...

The xxx-lite grip isn't very noticeable anyway. There shouldn't be too much of a difference between the SE and Lite. I would think you'll get used to the non-grip very fast. When I went xxx-lite to one90 it was different at first but got used to it after a few skates.

Unless you feel like keeping it on the bench with you and applying the grip one or twice a period, don't waste your money. Mine lasted about 3 shifts before it rubbed off.
