I have brand new Graf 705's that I've skated in about 8 times. I noticed a bit of slippage in my left heal which irritated the skin and made my heal a bit sore. I wear socks. I decided to try without socks and got a gnarly blister that removed the epidermis. Two days later with socks and a band aid on it I played a game. This definitely made it worse and it bled, hurt like hell when I was skating. I haven't skated since the 14th, partly because I got a cold, but also to allow it to heal. I know if I didn't take some time off it was never going to get better. Its looking better now, I have a game on Wednesday, got some oxysox to see if the sock will make any difference, and will probably throw on a band aid as well just in case.

I don't know if the pitch will make a difference?

Neither of these seem like a pitch issue as much as a proper fitting boot issue. The blistering is coming from the rubbing of your foot against the skate boot. If the boot fits improperly, you will get blisters no matter what the forward angle is. When you both purchased the skates, did you try them on and have them heat fit?

I went from Bauer 7000's with Lightspeeds to Graf 703's withe Cobra holders and did not have a problem with blisters because the new Graf boots fit me perfectly.

sounds like the heel of the skate isn't narrow enough to lock your heel in place, hence the slipping and chaffing in the boot.

I know my issue is the boot. My toes ever so slightly brush the toe cap when I'm standing. I had them baked. I took out the insoles and my toes go to the end. The first couple of times I skated in them, they were a little uncomfortable, partly because I was lacing them too tight up front, and is to be somewhat expected when breaking in skates. I never noticed the heel slippage until I started playing pickup.

Now, they feel fine except for the left heel slippage, the right doesn't do it. I bought some Superfeet to see if that will help. Do you think I bought too deep of a boot, maybe I should have gone with the 703 if I were to get Grafs? In a narrow if the the boot is too wide at the heel? Or gone with a completely different company? Would having them baked again do any good?

Supreme is the widest heel and baking wont do anything but make it worse.

The Superfeet might help and try that first. If it doesnt you should go either to the Grafs or maybe an Easton.

Sorry, I kind of hijacked splayerc12's thread, but was having the same problem with only my left heel. I wear Graf 705 Regular. I came from wearing Bauer 2000's size 8D and never had a problem. They're still in pretty good shape, just need new holders as one is cracked. If I keep having problems I might have to do that. It all used to be so simple.
