bauer vapor xxx toe caps

Hi folks, I just got a pair of vapor xxx skates. The toe caps do not seem very solid and cut resistant. Has anyone put protectoe on them? The material is different then my previous skates.

Protectoe will work and help your Vapor XXX toe caps. Just be sure to give each coat enough time to thoroughly dry before adding another and then skating. I used to put Protectoe on all my older skates with ballistic nylon toe caps.

Best thing to do is to mask the sides of the boot and the sole.

Bumping this old thread.

I recently purchased an older pair of skates with a nylon toe cap and nylon on the sides. After going to many shops around time I also managed to track down a product called "Toe Pro" to apply to the nylon.

The application to the toe is pretty straight forward, has anyone here applied Toe Pro to the nylon on the sides of the boot as well? Are there any cons to doing this?

I believe Toe Pro cures pretty stiff. Depending on how thick a layer you'd be putting on the quarters, it may end up cracking and splitting on you.
