Rbk 6K shaft vs. Easton Ultra Lite (green) Shaft

Recommended Posts

As the Rbk 6K is a tapered shaft and the Easton Ultra Lite is a standard shaft it boils doen to 1) what type of blades do you want to use and 2)availability in your area. The Ultra Lite has a proven track record while the 6K has little history. I use the Ultra Lite (both original brown and green versions) and it works for me.

since the 6K is tapered, it will perform closer to a OPS than the Ultralite will, but the ultralite with a good composite blade will still perform very well. Both shafts are worth the money they charge, but are two different types of shafts. If you're willing to spend some money on blades, the 6k is a good buy for its performance advantages. If you're looking to buy cheapo $20 wood blades, stick with the Ultralite, as it's hard to find blades in general for tapered shafts, especially wood blades.

The overall finish and look of the shaft will be better on the easton, as the RBK sticks will have spray grip drips or the stickers with the graphics may shift here or there. Don't worry about the cosmetics, though, they have no affect on the performance.

I have never used the 6k, but I own a green ultralite. Honestly, it was an aquired taste for me. I really didn't like it much until I found a good wood blade for it.
