DarkStar50 679 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 I'm in a group that has been skating together over 25 years. The older I get the faster I was. It is organized with the same 24 guys paid up for 13 weeks x 4 = 52 weeks/ 1 year. each 13 week "season" cost $260. So if you make all 13 games, its $20 a skate. You always miss a few. This way the rink is paid and we are set. The rink is a dump, Sport-O-Rama in Monsey, NY. Our ice time though is cherry: Friday night at 6:25 pm to 7:55 pm. The $260 includes adult beverages and pretzels in the locker room after the game. We have so much fun in the locker room after the game that we haven't taken off our skates yet and the group that went on after us is already coming off the ice while we continue to "relax." When we started 25 years ago at Low Tor Ice Rink in Haverstraw, NY(since torn down), it cost $4, pay as you show up! The good old days.

tanguay40 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 I play in a high school league as a college student (I just don't play in any games) and I paid $650 + fundraising money I didn't sell for this season. Practice once or twice from September to 1st week of March.Last year, I paid $1600 to play Varsity for my high school at St. Louis, Missouri. It's just way too much, but we were shorthanded for the most part.

yipperzz 28 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 roller hockey is ~$150 per person for a 10 game season depending on the rink here in orange county, ca.ice hockey is ~$450 per person for a ~25 game season. again depends on the rinks. there are nicer rinks that charge more or give you less games per season. wolfshadoww 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 wow, and to think I got irked when my roller leagues went up. Used to be 75 for 12 games and playoffs, now it's 90. 90 every two months for the league and playoffs plus a 25 annual fee. Dunno about ice around here though, though last I knew a couple hours of drop in for ice was only 6-7 dollars. Yeah and if it rained we were pretty much SOL.
