Is getting tickets to either the flames/nucks hard

Recommended Posts

I think we are taking a trip up to canada in October, and are going to do calgary/banff over to vancouver and such, and I would really like to take in an NHL game in a canadian city (I live in DC, so the stadium is half empty most nights).

Which is the easier ticket to get, which is the best rink for atmosphere, and should I buy in advance, or do they have tickets for walkup fans?

Cheers

make the extra push to get to an oilers game if you could, or perhaps even a calgary vs oilers game in calgary, or even a vancouver/oilers game also.....seems to be the better rivalry right now....anyways onto tickets

In edmonton all our games are pretty much sold out, the most you can get on game day is a half-price ticket, but they only sell them in singles in random spots in the arena...you can get quite a few ticks off ebay or such, but its not as easy as walking up to the window before puck drop and grabbing tix for the whole family.

As for calgary and vancouver, i would think that they would be pretty similar with their ticket availability.

You'll find lots of pancakes when you come to visit...too bad getting tickets to the Canucks or Flamers will be a lot more difficult.

Pretty much both teams have sold out seasons. Yeah there are a few retail seats around, but unless you're a super planner and you follow when the non-season ticket holder allotments go on sale to the general public, you're mostly looking at a reseller.

If you're going through a reseller you can wait until closer in and use eBay or even a curbsider. I don't know about Alberta, but here in British Columbia scalping is legal so the ticket guys have maps of where the seats are and they'll even give you a business card. Believe it or not some of them are actually nice!

The Canucks have something called the Prime Seat Club. This is a legit online environment where season ticket holders sell the games they're not able to attend.

Hopefully see you in the fall!

We are off to Calgary in march and we learnt from last year about getting tickets early. Last year we had to get all tickets off ebay which was costing bout $100 for 1 seat! these could be 2 tier about 5 rows from the back or they could be Ultimate Fan Zone as they call it.

If you look on ticketmaster.ca and look when the tickets come out. I was at work when i ordered my tickets for Flames V Wings, and two others where as Flames V Lighting we had to get on ebay becasue ticket master said it was sold out like 5 mins after going on ticketmaster.

You need to really look asap to get seats other wish you will be paying £100 for a $18 ticket way up in the roof!

Start looking now on ticketmaster for the tickets!

Can't say for Calgary or Edmonton

butyour best chances of getting tickets will be either craigslist or ebay.

I bought all my tickets on either ebay or craigslist this season (been to about 6 games so far this season) and haven't paid above retail yet.

The trick is to craigslist the tickets the day of the game. you'll get the best price that way. but in your case, it might not be the best solution.

Stubhub

Ive bought tickets through stubhub before. Its sorta pricey but you can get the best seat in the house if you want to pay the price.

i second StubHub. Its the season ticket holders selling their tickets if they can't go to a game. I got some good tickets to a Cubs game at

Wrigley, they were behind home plate (around 50-100 rows up).
