NikeBauer XXX Lite Cracked

Recommended Posts

My XXX Lite is cracked pretty badly in the tapered part of the shaft. The stick is less than 30 days old and I am planning to send it back under warranty. Does the stick have to be broken in two pieces to be covered or is the crack enough damage to be covered?

That's stupid. If they tell someone a crack isn't enough, they'll just take it outside and run it over with their car until it's broken enough.

I just dropped off the cracked stick at a local NikeBauer warranty center. The NB rep said it will definitely be covered and he will send it in. As you can probably tell I have no experience with this process.

I am concerned the new XXX Lite will break quickly again. Has anybody requested a different stick from NB on a warranty replacement? If so, please suggest something a little more durable.

I think a lot of it comes down to luck too. I've had a XXX Lite for several months and no problems. That doesn't mean I couldn't have a freak accident any time and it cracks or breaks. If you like the stick, why not give it another try.

Sorry if I am reading it wrong, but can you do that, send a broken stick in on warranty and get a different stick in return?

Ive done it with bauer, I sent the XXX and asked for a XXXlite and they sent me one, I did this when they first came out, so i guess it was all a publicity thing. As for me i sent in my friends XXXlite for him without the blade the broke off and i got a stick back, im guessing maybe it was lost in shipping but i just never put it in since he thru it out and they sent me a whole new stick.

have i understood this right?

you guys just send in your sticks that has cracked/chipped when you were playing, and get them warranty replaced?

Damn you are lucky.. Here in Sweden we only get them warranty replaced if we can prove that the crack/brakage is related to a failure in the process of making the stick.

Update:

I just spoke with the Warranty Rep at Bauer and they are going to send me the One90 instead of the XXX Lite. Unofficially he mentioned not as many of the One90’s come back compared to the XXX Lite. I will miss the Stick’em on the stick but hope to have it longer than a month this time.

Side note:

The XXX Lite is on major back order and would not be able to ship a replacement for at least one month.

My new One90 arrived in the mail today (only took 5 days). The stick is a warranty replacement for the original damaged NB XXX. The blade has a big "R" stamped into it. I would imagine the manufacture does this for warranty purposes.
