seanmccann 3 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 You probably can't afford it so google "Gimp" instead; it is free.If you do have $700 laying around then: https://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/inde...ODUCTS&nr=
Vapor 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2007 You can get photoshop for under 300 bucks if you look around.http://www.needsoftware.com/academic-softw...-photoshop.htmlGet gimp, its pretty good. You can even download gimpshop which is a gui upgrade which makes Gimp look like photoshop

David13 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 I have a question about gimp for anyone here that knows how to use it well. I tried to figure it out looking at tutorials but couldnt figure it out. Is there a way to engrave text into an image? In this case I am trying to take a picture of a prescription pill a white chalky one and put a name in it to make it look like its the name of the prescription is this possible with Gimp? If any one knows anything please pm me or something any help would be appreciated.

sc37 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Ok..I got the runtime environment installed, and the program too. But how do I get jpgs and other things to load up. Where do I install those plug ins and how? Cause I've found them, but don't know what to do with it. Assuming that technique asked above might require some sorta plug-in too?
trox_355 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2007 If you have the program running, opening images should just be a matter of using the open command under the file menu. The scripts or plug-ins should go into the scripts or plugins folder on your disk wherever you installed the program.I pointed David to the scripts located here: http://registry.gimp.org/plugin?id=6988 to try and get the same effects as in photoshop. That file went into the scripts folder.
