has the coffey curve changed?

Recommended Posts

i have been playing with the " Coffey " curve for quite some time. my question is has sherwood changed it? i've compared a blade i bought last winter to one i bought this winter and the one i bought this winter looks like it has a bigger curve.coffeycurve.jpg

mind you, the angle might not be the exact same in the pics i took but i definitely see a difference.

any imput would be appreciated, as i am looking for the old style curve.

Wood blades will have some variations within the same batch, let alone from year to year.

thanks for the info.it's good to know.. i have about 10 of these wooden blades and most of them actually look the same. i've been considering buying a few of the composite Coffey blades but am unsure due to the fact that i dont know which one of these 2 is closer to the composite version.

I've been to the factory and believe it or not a lot most wood blades are still made by hand. If you've seen how it's done you wouldn't question why some patterns have a bit of variance.

...they're pressed with a machine and then a worker finishes the curve by hand before it's dryed and laminated.
