One 90 Question

Recommended Posts

Just got my One 90's. Used them today for the first time. How long should it take to adjust to the longer runner? I feel like I'm gonna take a header when I start skating. Love the boot though. Comfy. If I can't get used to the longer runner, what are my options?

Thanks guy's.

or profiling, heel lift, or a number of other things.

the issue may not be the length of the steel, but the pitch. IIRC, Most of the extra length on the LS2P is on the rear of the runner, not the front.

what kind of skates were you previously wearing, and what holders?

the difference between an LS2 runner and LS2P runner (of the same size) isn't much. The pitch of theh older itself is the same.

Likely what's throwing you off is the ONE90's deep heel lock, which makes you feel like you're pitched onto your heels.

Try them out a few more times, if you can't get used to it, go with a heel lift. Many have done so with positive results. good luck.

It took me about 2-3 skates to adjust to the runner although right off the bat I had lifts on my skates.

I just got my custom One90's with heel lifts. I like the feel of being a bit more on the balls of my feet when I skate. I took my skates in to my sharpener and he jumped all over me for putting those on. He said it could cause the sole of the skate to crack over time and that I should remove them immediately. He also said to just have the skates radiused to accomplish the same thing.

What gives? It seems most on this board agree when it comes to heel lifts.

Thanks

I disagree with him. Plenty of lift users on this board and in the pro's as well. JR has said in quite a few posts that the One90 does not have much steel therefore adding the heel lift is a better option. NBH wouldn't sell lifts if they were worried about the sole being damaged.

It takes about 3 or so skates. Don't give up on them and get new ones. Once you're used to them you will love them.

Sorry to go off topic, But do the supreme 70s have the same deep heel lock as do the one90s? Since switching from the vapor line to the 70s I feel that I am always on my heels rather then the balls of my feet.

The vapor line has a more aggressive (forward) boot pitch than the supreme line. going from vapor to supreme will make you feel like you're slightly on your heels because of the boot (not the holder). Profiling/lifts should help alleviate any issues. With Supreme70's, you're going to want lifts b/c of the LS2P steel.

Quick question here if i put LS2s on my one90s instead of LS2P would it change the pitch so im more on my toes? IF not what would the difference I would feel between them.

No it wont.. It's the boot that has a negative pitch, not the holder.

The only difference between LS2s and LS2P is the longer steel of the LS2P. The holders are the same (except for the color/material) ..
