One 90 Question

Recommended Posts

i was previously on vapor XX's and was off the ice for 6 months with an injury. when i got back on the ice it still took me a few skates to get used to the new pitch of the one90's. i was wondering what the advantage (if any)is of having a "less steep" pitch (like the one90's) vs. having a steeper pitch like the vapor series

Good question, I would like to know as well. Anyone have an answer to this?

being pitched back onto your heels allows for a bit more stability, especially when backskating.

a heel lift will often make it more difficult for you to skate backwards, but there are, of course, exceptions to every rule.

profiling to a forward pitch and heel lifts do the same thing. heel lifts save your steel, and there isn't much on the LS2P holder anyway.

If you're going to get lifts installed or a profile done, try to find a skate sharpener in your area with a lot of experience in custom profiling who will actually watch you skate (in person or on video). do some reserach on the profiling/lifts before you throw money at a problem that may not even be there.

didnt take me long to adjust. No more then a 3hr skate i dont think. Ive had mine 10 months and been through 2 sets of blades and blade holders however refuse to change them to anything else

I picked up my one90's yesterday, and he profiled my blade slightly forward. The longer steel is what I had the most trouble getting used to, felt clunky for about the first half hour, they felt fine after that. I think I will have him radius them a little more, as I am coming from the shortest t-blade rocker.

Quick question here if i put LS2s on my one90s instead of LS2P would it change the pitch so im more on my toes? IF not what would the difference I would feel between them.

No it wont.. It's the boot that has a negative pitch, not the holder.

The only difference between LS2s and LS2P is the longer steel of the LS2P. The holders are the same (except for the color/material) ..

The holders are longer also, not just the steel. How do you think they fit the longer steel in? They just kept the sizes the same to coincide with the boot length.
