Bluetooth Question

Recommended Posts

Long story shot- my mom got a new phone that I want, and is willing to take my old phone. I have bluetooth capabilities on both, and already sent my pictures FROM my old phone, TO the computer. When i try to send them to the new phone, it asks for a PIN number. Where can I find that?

Oh, I didnt really do any kind of set up with Bluetooth either .

EDIT- I found the PIN number to be 1122. Now, I would like to send Ringtones. It wont let me send them from phone to phone, or even phone to computer, so i used Itunes. However, when i set them as ringtones on the phone, it says the file is too large (because it is a whole song I'm assuming.) How can i crop it to use the parts of songs i really want?

I know at least for the ringtones that they have DRM on them. The phone(s) are probably locked by the provider so that the ringtones have to be purchased from them. If you want to use regular non-DRM mp3s then you will have to ***hack*** the phone. Check out howardforums.com if you want more info about phones.

A good free music editing program is wavepad. It's free to download through their site and it allows you to save it in various formats and basically do anything you would need to with a music editing program.

You'll need to transfer them from your computer to your phone, should be easy as long as you have a phone with bluetooth and OBEX enabled on it.

Excelent advice. I saved them as Mpeg's and they sent just fine. Thanks TBL

no problem, what kind of ringtones do you like? I have a bunch on my computer I could send some to you, although they're all in mp3 format.

where did u get the ringtones? Depending on carrier, most ringtones actually do not have any DRM. Did you download them from your carrier or from your computer?

Audacity is also a great freeware program.
