Winnwell Shoulder Pads

Got these for $12 at a local sports store. Pretty slick pads, really light, not much protection, just a thick chunk of foam in the chest and some hard shoulder caps under the foam.

Never heard of the brand before. Just thought I'd throw out another name in the "adult league" shoulder pads arena.

For local guys, I found these at a Play It Again Sports. They had a couple more, different sizes. Looks like they've been sitting around the store for a while. But $25 with 50% off...can't pass it up!

winnwell has been around for a while. I think they're still in buisness but they are considered to be a franklin type of company... But they did have a stick that was basically a vapor XXX.

I don't know too much about the brand but maybe someone can correct or back up what I said.

As far as the shoulder pads are concerned they LOOK like those cheap kids franklin ones. The spine protection seems to be lacking something serious.

I got a pair like that, either CCM or Bauer, forget. But I've seen them on HockeyWorld. I've seen them describe as practice pads, and that's what I use mine for. I wore them for games a few times, and had modify it with some larger hard caps of my own. Eventually bought new pads...but might work for some.

peranis hockey world owns winnwell. if you see one of there sticks and the paint is coming off of it, it is most likely a synergy or any other high end stick because they just paint over them and put there name on it.

Well I used them tonight and LOVE them. I'm playing adult no check, although I got hooked and crosschecked tonight by some douchebag. Didn't feel it with the pads though. The shoulder caps are surprisingly sturdy. Wish it was a little longer and the neck was lower, but I stayed just as cool as I was without pads. They're keepers for sure. I might end up getting some of the Sherwoods down the road depending on where I play, but this is perfect for the playing I'm doing now.
