I think the movie was meant to be more of a serious movie than a comedy..that's what i heard from an interview with Rock. Aside from that i've never been much of a Chris Rock fan.

Was there ever a time when Chris Rock was funny? Andrew Dice Clay gets up and makes a coon joke and he's a racist, Rock recycles the same old pointless racial stereotype jokes over and over again and is a comic genuis. Spare me, really.
