There have been other threads on this subject. Biggest complaint has been that they have told MSH'ers that the holders are colored the whole way through and NOT dyed. A blatant lie!

Yes, there have been other threads, and I've read them. I remember the thread you're talking about.

Just because someone who works in the shop doesn't know what's going on and gave some bad information to a member on here doesn't mean that the shop is bad or shouldnt be trusted. How many times have you read the following words on this board? "I know more about the product than the people who work at X shop."

Also, at the end of the day, $90 isn't all that much to charge for a set of dyed holders. While I don't know the price of a regular set of Lightspeeds on their site, It's running you $70 for a pair of regular ones at most places anyway. A $10 upcharge per piece for the dye job isn't outrageous IMO. It seems like a lot when you've already got a perfectly good set of LS2s on your skates, but in essence, they're charging $20 to dye the set.

Hockey Giant...$80 for a pair of runners WITH holders...

I tried to place an order with them yesterday. Everything seemed to go well until I got an e-mail from them today. When I ordered, everything was in stock. The e-mail said the helmet was back ordered and the two sticks were out of stock. Annoying.

I understand this happens sometimes, but this is the second time this has happened to me. (The first time was another retailer.) You would think they would keep their website up to date to provide good customer service. Sorry, I'm frustrated. I'm done ranting.

honestly as frustrating as it is, it's hard for them to update their site every time they sell something. You should be giving them credit for letting you know they are out of stock without you having to call... this is why I won't order from hockeygiant or oceanhockey again. OK i'm lying, I'll order from HG if there is an unbeatable closeout deal.

As far as a retailer being out of stock on something, that happens often. Total Hockey is a great source for equipment. I really do not understand why someone would even question their reputation?? I never had a problem with them.

I don't think capsfan is questioning their reputation, i think he's just frustrated about everything he ordered being backordered, when the site showed In Stock, and was just venting a little.

It's not impossible for an e-tailer (hockey or otherwise) to have an ordering system that ties into their website, and keeps the qty's on the site updated instantly. It really depends on the budget they have to work with.

Having a pricey system/website doesn't automatically make a store good though. customer service will always be the deal breaker for me. no one wants to deal with a-holes, no matter how good their site is.

totalhockey isn't my "go-to" store, but i have dealt with them before, and I was happy with their service.

I'm not saying you shouldn't order from them. I'm just sharing my personal experience.

I can appreciate how hard it is to keep everything on the website updated (now), but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. I do give them credit for letting me know that items were out of stock. The other retailer didn't let me know until I e-mailed them... a week later.

Well, I received my order yesterday afternoon. I placed the order last Thursday and it arrived yesterday with no problems. In my limited experience with them, their service was excellent and I would have no problem buying from them again.

I just ordered a stick from them and immediately after ordering I got an email saying it on back-order with a date of when the shipment was coming in. The day it came in they shipped it and came in three days. I find their prices very good and shipping is free if you spend over $100...

They're very good with Customer Relations. I e-mail many questions, and they always get back fast, and actually answering the questions. I believe I've ordered from them, and they're also good with shipping. My stick came in about less than a week and I'm satisfied. Overall, I've found them very helpful.

They're good guys. I just went to get some One90 skates on Tuesday and somehow when they took the skates to bake them a 9 got mixed in with my 8s, so I ended up with a left 9 and a right 8 during the molding I didn't really notice, got them sharpened drove half an hour home, looked at them and noticed. Called them up and they ordered a new pair and called me about 20 minutes ago to let me know the new pair of 8's they're giving me are in. A pain in the ass but at least they're fixing it, and fast.

ok, now I'm not soo sure about totalhockey. I ordered some one90 shin guards and a half shield from them because hg and hm were the only other places I could find them in 16" and find the HS22. Well I called to confirm that they had it in stock, they did not. The guy I talked to told me that they had the one50 shin guard and that I could buy those. I told him I didn't want the one50s and he "explained" to me that they were basically the same but different color. I told him that they were not and a few certain features that I wanted were only on the one90 shins, he told me I was wrong. Basically, he just wanted to make a sale. He didn't care whether I got something that I wanted or not, whether I was happy or not AND outright called me a liar. I canceled my order and he sighed and said "if you want." I just hung up.

Wow. What a shamefully desperate attempt at turning a buck - f*ck that guy. You didn't give him your CC number did you?

haha JR, good call!

well I ordered online and was just confirming whether they had them. I was tired and just hung up, normally I would have had some choice words for him(as you guys can tell by my post count, I have something to say to everything) but I just wasn't in the mood. I'm considering calling back but it really isn't worth my time... But posting this here so none of you guys let this guy talk you into something you don't want, is worth my time.

I've ordered from there before and got quick replies and somewhat decent shipping BUT this incident made me quite unhappy. I can't really speak out against their service as an equipment provider but as far as honest advice or accurate advice goes, don't trust them.

My main want from the shin pad(besides the tight fit and tapered lower portion) was the honeycomb type protection(more breathable) and the nike grip print liner. Both of which he told me was on the one50... I believe the honeycomb type padding is available only on the one70(only on the calf wrap) and one90 and the grip print liner is only on the one90.

I wish my LHS had the means of stocking more(didn't have my size), I'd never have a problem like that with them.
