Hockey shops in Quebec

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I'm going to Quebec on friday for a couple of weeks and could really do with some new kit. Does anyone know of any good shops in Tremblant or Montreal that stock a wide selection of ice and inline gear? A shop that stock both would be preferable but an ice shop would be better than nothing.

Thanks

Also check-out Frasers in Pointe-Claire.

I was at Frasers once when I was visiting my sister in Montreal. Nice store with a good selection and friendly staff. Now, I've only visited the place once, but I did have a good experience and would go there again.

rousseau is my personal favorite, huge selection, and pretty much around the best prices you can get in that area, yes, I known stuff is expensive canada.

It depends on what you're looking for, really. Rousseau has decent prices overall, but certain things can be had for better deals elsewhere. It's too bad you weren't in Tremblant last week - a Sports Excellence in St. Jerome (between the mountain and the city) was closing down and they were selling off everything for 50-80% off. They had Graf 735's on sale for 250 CAD.

Rousseau has a nice selection. Laval has a large store that has a respectable stock. If you're looking for closeouts, though, better hit the one on Taschereau - that is where they do their clearance selling from. I've got to agree with the staff comments at Fraser - if it weren't so far away, it would be the only place I gear up - the staff is awesome, and know their stuff. Their prices are the best I have seen around Montreal, and if you tell them of a better price elsewhere they'll usually at least match it. There is a PIAS over off Hymus that also has a decent hockey selection and some pretty wicked prices. Apart from that, there are a few Hockey Experts locations - one in the shopping area in Laval off the 13 and Samson, and another in St. Hubert. They also have some nice deals on gear, and their stick and skate selection is pretty impressive, meaning they clear a lot of stuff.

Good luck.

Frasers Sports has the best selection IMO.

Also to consider is Joe Sports in Dollard des Ormeaux.

IMO Rousseau could be a lot better!!

And the staff at Hockey Expert really sucks!

Thanks a lot for the fast responses - they're really useful. I'll let you know how I get on and whether I get through English customs without having to pay loads of tax on top. Maybe I should hit some pucks at my gear to make it look used? :)
