Eastern Conference Playoff Race

Recommended Posts

So far tonight has been perfect for the Leafs and Rangers. Carolina and Montreal lost, and NYI are losing by two with ten left in the 3rd.

Great news, Kosy.

Looks like the Flyers want to goon it up tomorrow by bringing up Cote. No offense, but that is rididulous. 5 games left in the season, the only purpose it serves is to cause trouble...

Theo, its the NHL. I would expect nothing less than a late season call-up of a goon brought in for a tussle or two. This isn't the first time this ever happened.

We outplay our opponents 90% of the time. Injuries killed the PK and PP. That was the difference tonight.

If that was the case TO would be on the top looking down

Not really. No finishers and bad special teams did us in. When were healthy we were decent, I believe 5th-6th range in the confrence.

Our mistakes are huge, ones that result in prime scoring chances. We rarely get those breaks or turn-overs and when we do, we don't have the talent to take advantage.

Does any team in the league have a 4th line that compares to the Leafs? Granted Toronto has very few forwards who are above average which hurts them, but over the past few weeks I've yet to see a 4th line that lines up well against the Leafs'.

Pohl- 12G 26P

Perreault- 21G 37P

Battaglia- 11G 29P +9

April 7, Montreal at Toronto. This game could be for 8th spot.

Toronto had a crucial OT win tonight after the Pens erased a 4-1 deficit. Montreal seems to match up well against Buffalo this year, so if they meet in the 1st round it could be an upset.

So has Toronto.... What might turn out to be a very crucial game is tomorrows game between Tor and Nyr.

I'm surprised Perreault is getting 4th line minutes, but whatever works. I thought he was more of a 3rd or even 2nd line player...Especially w/ the faceoff capabilities

Sundin's obviously the #1 center, Welly is playing awesome and Stajan is helpless without Steen. It kind've forces Perrault for the 4th line, but he does get time on the 2nd PP unit and his line is good enough to play in key situations.

The Rangers showed up tonight, as they have for the last 25 games. The Leafs left their game in Toronto. 7-2 is a butt kicking, in any league.

Are you kidding? The rangers will offer him 6 million.

"Darcy's always been a whiner," Avery said after the game. "Say you don't like his hair and he'll be upset." Asked what the refs had told him before the fight, Avery said, "I'm very selective in my hearing, like I was in grade school and with my mom. I have a switch I turn on and off -- it was off at the time."

Gotta love Avery.
