Recommended Posts

Cheers - got a line on a handful of cheap ones to add to the stockade.

Now if only I could find some more Roloson Omegas...

for high school hockey (at least in the town i live in) we have to use either an all wood stick or a composite shaft with a wood blade.so i have a couple questions on the subject of custom blades.

btw these would be tapered wood blades if i decide to go the custom route.

1. how much is it for tps to make custom wood blades, and whats the minimum?

2.what company makes custom wood blades the cheapest?

3. do i go to my lhs and have them talk to whatever company i go with, or do i have to contact the company myself?

Back to this subject guys.

Ive got a customer here in the UK, which he has his own curve on his replacement blades.

Just wondering which companys would do a full stick (wood) with his curve on?

Any ideas?

sher-wood

will sherwood still do that for the public, because i checked out their website and the only options they had for customizing was for the rm19. i've been thinking about it for a while but now it seems like it might be too late, or do i just have to call sherwood directly?

Depends on the LHS. I used to charge what the blade cost retail plus the custom upcharge. Came out to $30 retail per blade, min 12.

Go to your LHS.

Isnt the sherwood SOP program cancelled as they have stopped manufacturing wood sticks? I dont know how accurate the information is, but a friend told me spezza no longer uses wood because there is no more SOP

Sher-Wood's retail operations have been moved overseas, but the SOP program is still in place with a smaller staff in Canada. The only thing the Canadian facility will be doing is pro stocks and SOPs

if you're from minnesota, you might want to look into getting harrow/christians done, since they are located there, it would probably be easiest.

JR, Chadd, someone else who might be in the know-

Does CCM offer customs on their V2 blades by a longshot kind of chance? I can't imagine it'd be too terribly different from molds for composite blades, just cheaper materials.

Never heard of such regulation.. what's the reasoning? Same spiel as MLB with Metal Bats?

Probably something to do with insurance - some company decided that composite blades were more of a spearing hazard.

After making my own curve up.

What companys does this?

If memory serves me correctly a company by the name of "Legend" used to do them.

Loiselle? I know. My nephew got a brand new Stealth last year from his grandfather that he can't use. He's trying for varsity so not exactly the time to make waves. I get a much better feel for the puck with a composite. It doesn't feel like a log.
