Shooting the Puck

Recommended Posts

first learn how to properly shoot with player stick and gloves. then transfer that to the goal stick with goal gloves. I just make the puck transition heel to toe on my stick and give it a good flick with my top wrist. When you get better at that then use the flex of the goal stick...its works awesome. But nothing makes a difference like practice. I used to only be able to get it to the blue line in the air when standing up, now I can clear it out past the redline in the air from my b-fly.

The problem with that is that a goalie stick is more upright than a players stick. Just look at the lie of the sticks; with players sticks a high lie would be 6, most goalie sticks lies are around 14.

Yea but it is still good practise, it might not be the same lie but at least you are practising.

I noticed my puck handling abilities increased dramatically once I started playing road hockey. (I use orange pucks, I hate playing with balls) Yes orange pucks are a lot lighter than real pucks but its technique, and practise.

but the only real similarity is with your top hand. It's a LOT more upright and the stick weighs a lot more. If you're going to practice use a goalie stick... But in turn if you get the wrist motion for the goalie stick right your wrist shot will get better.

Most goalies when shooting the puck put there fingers facing down on there cather glove. When i shoot i do the oppoiste and turn my hand up soo my fingers face up. I find when i do that i get alot more power on my shot, and great spin like a players wrist shots. Also, i find that i have alot more aim like this B)

First off, no need for the large print and if you're going to use large font make sure your spelling and punctuation is up to par. If you do not, you look like a bigger jackass than you would have just using the large font.

Second, we've already discussed this method; don't act like your method is something special and ground breaking.

Third, I really dislike you... already.

Okay, Thats your opinion. I was just testing out the fonts becasue i have never used this forum before. Also, you don't have to like me. Another thing, I didn't read what everyobdy wrote before me, so i didn't know that you already discussed that style of shooting. :(

well work on that, it's just forum etiquette. Read before you post, don't make huge fonts for no reason...

With that being said, at the time I wasn't in a good mood and snapped when I just should have told you the aforementioned "rules."

If you're respectful to the board and it's rules the members of the board will be respectful to you, welcome to the boards.

Lmfao, thanks. And its okay. The only reason i did the big font was because when i saw 7 font i figured it would be small still because its 7, not like 36 or something like that, so i just did it, and the bold i jsut wanted to do cuz i like bold :P
