GMS-11 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 I use and highly recommend the 8000's; awesome pants. You can (now) find them for about $90/pair. I tried on the xxx lights and didn't see the value (for the $) over the 8000's; also I didn't like the "stripe" that comes on the pants. Just my opinion. Medic 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 I had Bauer 8000's before I switched to Tackla 951's and they were great. The only reason I switched was they were a bit too tight and I didn't like the spine protection. When I went to sell them, the XXX pants were newly out so no one would buy the 8000s even though they're essentially the same.
kärpät 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 I was also planning to buy new pants and i was looking at the xxx lites
Methane 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 They don't have leg zippers do they? I've been eyeballing these pants in addition to the RBK 8k but I always pull my pants over my skates.
mojo122 541 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Correct, no zippers in the XXX-Lite pant. One 90 pant has leg zippers.
Methane 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Correct, no zippers in the XXX-Lite pant. One 90 pant has leg zippers.Whoa, just found the One90 for $5 more than the XXX lite.Edit: OK, that's strange. You can find XXX lites for $134 in several places the one place that has both is $159 for the XXX lits and $139 for the One90.
duch 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 XXX pants are good choice. Love how light and protective they are. As already mentioned the only down side is the high price and no leg zippers. But if it's what you want go for them.
