Skate Questions

Recommended Posts

I have a rather large skate dilemma on my hands...

I got custom Vapor XXs made up, but they absolutely KILL my feet. So they are a no go. I tried using the Graf G3s. The comfort level is like no other, but they lean so far forward that im tripping over myself, which is quite embarassing. Do you guys think that adjusting to this new pitch will take a long time, or I will ever adjust to it?

My other question is, how do Zair Comp SEs feel pitch wise? Are they aggresively forward like the G3s, or are they more neutral/slightly forward like Vapor XXs. What I'm basically looking for is a skate that feels like a Graf without the agressive forward lean.

Thanks in advance.

are you using cobras? if so you should try switching to some tuuk custom +'s or lightspeeds. if thats not a possibility you should try changing the pitch on the blades. to something like lightspeeds usual pitch im sure jr or chad could tell you what it is.

Ya, I should've put that in there. I have Lightspeeds on them. They're on a neutral pitch also. They are just extremely forward.

you know i always thought grafs had a forward pitch to them i think all there is to do is get used to them i think after a while youll get used to them and like them. i kinda like the feeling it feels like im on my toes all the time. if that doesnt work im not sure what you could do.

I've been skating on Bauers my whole life though. It's going to take a hell of a lot of skating to get used to them. At least I think it will.

What I'm basically asking is will the Zair Comp SEs fit like a Graf, but have the pitch and feel of a Bauer?

Im pretty sure a sharpening pro would be able to trim the heel a little bit to get you leaning back slightly to neutralize the extreme forward pitch.

I'm not going to deal with all that. I put them in the sell section.

I just want to know if the Zair Comp SEs are the skates I should be giving a try? Could anyone help me out. Thanks guys.

My brother has had S500s since December, Justin hooked it up. I tried them on and I am not a big fan, at all.

Do you guys think, based on opinion, that Zair Comp SEs fit like Grafs,a nd skate like Bauer?

I got custom Vapor XXs made up, but they absolutely KILL my feet. So they are a no go.

Where is the problem with the XX's? Forefoot, ankle? If they're too narrow you could try having them stretched and if it's a problem with the ankle padding, you can have them punch out a pocket. My ankles don't sit well in my 7000's, but having the ankle punched out on the troubled side makes them wearable until I get new skates.
