Recommended Posts

Oh man, these are beaten up pretty badly.

Buildt to perform, not to last?

Glad to hear you will get another pair though.

What skates did you weare before, did the tendon guard snap on your previous skates as well? Just curious...

if you have your bill.. call bauer and send those puppies back... raise alil hell.. im sure they'll do sumthing..

Ummm no need for that since he already said he was given a replacement...plus rasing hell usually just pisses ppl off. I hate when people use that strategy.

Are you the type that kicks off your skates when your done and yanks on the tendon guard to put them on? We've received 3 pairs of One90s with broken tendon guards just like yours due to individuals putting on and taking off the skates like I mentioned above.

No, i take very good care of my skates. I play midget AAA. The only thing i can think of is maybe the way i skate. It's called a toe flick. But still, i wouldn't imagine doing that would destroy my skates. And no, i don't pull on the tendon guard to get the skates of. I unlace 3 eyelets.

I'm not sure what kind of person Mr. Hellraiser is, but raising Hell is usually the most obnoxious and ignorant thing to do. By all means, don't be nice about it, but unless it's absolutely necessary to utilize your Hell-raising skills, it's preferred by most of the world that you not. I do a fair share of selling hockey equipment, and of course, buying it first. Like a majority of the people, whenever a customer bitches at me over the phone or internet, I wish I could smack them in the face via email. It's really the wrong thing to do, unless warranty return takes 10 times as long as it should, etc. It just makes the world happier.

My laptop broke, and I had to have it repaired. The estimated time was less than a week, as it would take 1 day to ship, 3 day turnaround, then another to ship back to me. They call me on the day it's due in that a part has been "backordered", and I won't get my laptop until May 9th, when I was supposed to get it April 19th. That's 20 days, which is fucking rediculous as it is, but I'm not "raising Hell" at HP because of it; the time to do that is if, for example, my laptop gets delayed again. Then, of course, raise all the Hell you want.

not everyone can afford to shell out $500 whenever they feel like it.

I hear ya, and I really do get it, but seriously, hockey is not a cheap sport by any stretch.

Besides, if you want to play right away, what choice do you have? You get another pair, and when/if those get repaired/replaced, you now have a backup pair.

That's kind of/really a stupid suggestion - nobody can afford that. Just like nobody can afford to go out and buy a new car while theirs is in the shop. It doesn't matter if they'd have a backup car - they could still only drive one, and nobody has the money to do that.

I appreciate your analogy, comparing buying a $20,000 car to a $450 pair of skates, but thanks for the comments.

And if "nobody has the money" to buy a second pair of hockey skates on this board, the financial state of the continent is much worse than I imagined.

yeah having a snapped tendon guard ona 550 skate sucks but the performance shouldn't be affected. since it happened again i would just have a local proshop put a stronger one on or just use stronger stiching
