Just go play the game. Personally, I never worry about try-outs - I know that if I go to the rink and just perform the way I can, I'll be fine.

Headcases like yourself are the guys that players like me have a lot of fun with at try-outs.

Remember that its just a game. Play it that way. Laugh at your mistakes and don't flaunt around when you do something good. Just play.

I was in the same boat as you. I was told that I was never good enough to play on one team or the other...too small...not dedicated enough...wrong attitude...yet when I went to skates like the ones your going to and the drylands, I worked my ass off, I played how I knew I could play and I just went out there with the attitude that Im going to play how I can play and if I make it great, if not then it wasn't the team for me. Just go out there and put it all out there, show them that you can help them and be solid. Don't worry about the other guys, if anything goes wrong during the skate or dryland just shake it off and keep going, put it all out on the line and let them see what you can do. That's all you can do. Just play the game you play and can play, don't do too much, don't try to do things you can't do...stick to what your solid at and push everything to limits and you'll be fine. Don't be cocky, but have confidence in your abilities.

The best thing to do is just have fun. I play like shit when I'm not out there having fun. Like everyone said it's a game and if your not having fun doing it then why are you doing it at all? If your in the position you are then you should believe you belong out on the ice with those guys so prove it. Remember that and you'll do fine. Good luck man...

Confidence on the puck is a big thing IMO I see lots of kids trying to go up a level that panic on a 1-1 or when their being lined up along the boards, play your game don't be intimidated and skate hard.

well im back home. and alive:). it was really tough. the kids were really really good but i was expecting a little more i think. i didnt get into the drills as much as i shouldve but my stomache was feeling weird the whole time from being scarred i guess. i was never a drill type of player and always thought i was better in games but we didnt get to scrimmage. we did do 2 on 2 scrimages for a little while and i thought i did good. really thought i fought for the puck even though both guys were over 6'2-6'3 and i did knock em around a little to. ps im only 5'8. cant wait to get out again
