SickLife

i'm so pissed at genesis wheels

Recommended Posts

i love them, but i've had so many hub's break, or the actual wheel chunk.

i have a brand new set of millenium's that came with my bluemax skates sitting around, should i just switch to those? comparable performance?

join the club on the Genesis wheel hub cracking/chunking.

Compared to the Genesis, the millenium's probably won't measure up. But your probably fed up enough that your willing to swtich so might as well give em a try.

where are you playing these days dude? i'm on 2 team's at skatesafe right now, & we also do a rink rental of the rink at skatesafe on sundays if you're intersted in playing some pickup.

Milleniums are a great wheel.. I also had genesis, they lasted less than a week. I switched to rink rat and milleniums and both are great just depends on what surface im skating on...

Yeah, didn't they fix the hub shape on those this year (circular to hexagonal)? What are you doing with older wheels like that? Send those puppies back!

Fuzions are now mini-core. I was anxious to try some but inlinewarehouse kept pushing back their release date so I had to go with RRs again.

A few of my teammates got Fuzions and they started breaking away from the hub after just 1 practise. After 2 practises they were totally wrecked.

I don't know if it was a bad bunch or something as fuzions always seem to be well recommended, but I dont think I'll be buying a set anytime soon.

On the topic of Wheels:

I chunk every single wheel I have tried within 3-4 games on Sportscourt /Icecourt or similar.

Weigh 160lbs, and the hardest duromator Revisions Bronze, RinkRat MB816 76a & 78a chunk on me like hell.

Is there any good wheel for sportscourt that's durable?

I had some issues last year with Rink Rat Blue Flames and then 76a MB816, but I should have never been using a wheel with that low of a durometer. Rink Rat did address the issue for me though and sent me 80a MB816s and I didn't have any problems with those for the few games I used them (5-6). This year I switched to the Sprung Chassis and the 80a MB816s rub a bit on those and don't spin freely (although the old 76a MB816s work fine with them) so I switched to Hot Shots and so far after 3 games I've had no splitting, cracking or chunking issues. I have 78a Hot shots at the front and back positions and 80a Hot Shots in the middle. I skate pretty hard and am 6'2" and 225lbs so do likely stress the wheels.

i think both of my teams are c. i think it's c1e & c2w. or something like that.

plus i have standard super swiss bearings i can't use with the genesis, but can with the millenium's.
