i haven't had any hands on experience with the pants but i heard from a shop that they had a piece of plastic on the back of the pant toward the bottom of each leg and some people were finding it uncomfotable/ restricting, has anyone here felt that as well?

No problems here. In fact, I find them to be the least restrictive pant I've ever tried on.

Are they anything like the Vapor 10 pant? IMHO they are/ were the best pant Bauer ever made. My 10s are getting old, but I can't find anything that are as nice and well made.

The One/90's are a decent pair of hockey pants. Nike/Bauer getting a little innovative with their newer equipment but basically very soundly made light pants. We'll need to wait and see how durable they are. Their top of the Bauer line so their a good bet to own.
