Not all that dirty of a hit if you ask me... just happened to catch the divider between the glass.

A purposeful blow to the head should always get a suspension....(not that we have seen this consistently in the past)

not that dirty of a hit??? both guys came up with thier elbows high, but at least Neidemeyer came in from the side.

Pronger's hit was a pure cheap shot to Homer's head from behind. If that wasn't an intent to injure it it sure looked like it. Pronger was frustrade because the Ducks were getting stomped and Holmstrom was battling him a good portion of the game.

Holmstrom could have just sat out the rest of the game and Pronger would probably have gotten more. But he got back in as soon as possible which was like saying "is that all you got" and topped it off by getting an assist on top of 2 goals.

Looked like a boarding call until Prongs decided to throw his hands and elbows into the back of Homer's head. Easy call in my book. Lucky he got one game. The league has been super-tough on calls of this nature.

langs..neidermeyer if he was the only guy to hit holmstrom it would have been clean as he would have hit him shoulder to maybe head just cuz holmstrom didnt see it coming. What Pronger did is unacceptable, and i say no loss to Ananheim, i never liked him anyways

Have you actually seen the hit?

Niedermayor should have been suspended too.

For throwing a hit we see 10 times a game?

He's only one of, if not the best, D-men in the game. Dirty hit and all, definately suspension worthy.

Neidermeyer hit without Pronger there...probably no big deal.

Pronger hit without Neids there. Yes, it was high, but without the sandwich affect of Neidermeyer...it's basically a shove and Holmstrom probably falls forward without further incident.

Watch the whole thing again. Holmstrom is looking behind him at what's going on with his pass (or whatever). If he is looking up ice (or turns quicker)...he sees Neidermeyer coming **assuming Pronger isn't also coming from behind** and we're all talking about the hit of the series...not about suspensions.

Penalty wise...at the time. I think Neidermeyer could have gotten just 2 for boarding and Pronger should have got the 5 and a game for hit from behind.
