new skates

Recommended Posts

im 160. getting down to about 155 hopefully then bulking. i loved the one70's feel. they feel different because the shop guy told me there basically a newer supreme skate. i may go with the 800c's then. they do fit great just keep hearing durability issues. i'll look into it though. thanks guys

Hence the actual name of the skate, the Supreme 70.

NBH Supreme 30

NBH Supreme 50

NBH Supreme 70

NBH Supreme one90

only the sticks have "one" before 50/70 etc...

I will give my $.02 on the XXV's shortly, if it matters. I bought a pair of them last week. I am coming from Tacks. Just waiting for them to get profiled...

ok.. you bought em... how do you like them. are they comfy?? skated on them yet?

I found the VaporXXXXs to be much more comfortable than the VaporXXXs I tried on

a year ago. I'm not sure why..Perhaps it is due to the fact that the store actually had a 9.5EE for me to try on? Plus the it "Felt" differently around my ankles and heel.

Just some input, perhaps if you weigh less you can get some more life out of Vapor XXX should you choose to buy them. On the other hand, my buddy who is 200 pounds plus got a season out of his XXX's before he junked them for RBK's.

Im a pretty big guy i weigh about 220 and i got a year and a half out of my XXX's playing 4-6 times a week during the season

ya i loved how the easton 800's felt on my feet but the guy told me they had more returns on that skate than most others for breaking down early so that scarred me a bit. ive seen the XXX's for 350 somewere aswell. to these last longer? thanks for the responses everyone.

Were the returns this year or last year? I know eaton skates are known for breaking down wayyyyyyyyy before the should, but apparently those issues have been "resolved". or so the rep has told me...

They were comfortable upon trying them on and walking around the shop. Even though Vapors are a different fit than Tacks, they were still comfrotable, so I had them baked and they are being profiled. I haven't skated on them yet.

Skated on them tonight for about 1hr 15 min. Took a little time in the beginning to adjust, but what new skate doesn't. The more I skated in them the better they felt. Some people skate in new skates for a little, then have to put their old ones back on for the rest of the skate. I didn't have to. They are still somewhat stiff and not fully broken in but they felt good. They were a little lighter than the Tacks I came from.

First impression: IMO good skate.
