Bauer Skate Cowlings

My clear cowlings on my Vapor xxx's cracked, so Bauer sent me new cowlings, but they sent the white ones which used to be on the supreme series skates. I like the clear cowlings and i was wondering if there was any differences between the white and the clear(weight, blade positioning, etc.).

I think they are the same but the white ones are stronger!

The differences are that the clear cowls are vented and have less material in the toe area. The white ones have more material to them.

Both have crap steel. If you haven't installed the white ones yet, see if your LHS will take them in on trade toward some RBK cowlings. RBKs are lighter, have the offset steel, have stainless steel, and best of all have replaceable steel.

The vapor cowlings are probably the worst of all the current cowlings. I'm guessing the white cowling is similar to the XX cowling that everyone was switching to after the XXX cowling broke.

I have to agree with Jimmy, rbk's cowlings and steel are a huge step up from Vapors in goal skates... Odd because I find that the CCM steel is worse than the tuuk steel in player skates.

Hey if you don't want those cowlings I'd happily buy them off ya. If interested. What size are they? I'd buy you the clear ones and send them to ya and have you send me the white ones.

Sorry, i am already putting them on, and a guy in my LHS told me that these are the cowlings that all the pro and junior guys have switched too so they should be a bit better

the clear ones are made of a lexan plastic so it makes them alot more rigid and some goalies I hear hate these holders for that one reason that when they push off it doesnt feel proper and that they feel abit clumsy in them
