New Golf Clubs?

Recommended Posts

Yeah I'm in the search of a new set of golf clubs. Looking for a pretty good set, and has to have the big face driver. If any of you that are really into golf could you give me any suggestions? Thanks in advanced

Most of the OEM companies sell, iron sets then the woods, wedges and putter are separate items. How serious are you about playing?

King Cobra heads are huge. Some good irons are Ben Hogan, Titleist and Taylor Made. I suggest a Ping G2i Anser for a putter, it's great, its the one I use. Wedges? Can't go wrong with RAC from TM.

I second dangle on the king cobra drivers. At my club they have a king cobra set 1,3,5 wood and 3 -sw in irons for 749.99 canadian. It is a fairly good set, i would definetly recommend it.

Get a set of knockoffs. You can get a huge driver and irons for less than a huge driver would normally cost.

Most manufacturers have their own version of the new "Jumbo's"..find a store that will let you demo a few before you commit..size is not the whole story.

You can get a last seasons's set of Wilson Pro staff's for about $220.00 USD if you look around..including three woods..although the driver is probably no more than 320 cc's...I have tried these irons, the new RAC's from Taylor Made, the new Red Max's from Wilson, the new Titleist irons, Ping Eye 2's and 3's although not the newest Pings, and have found the Pro Staffs as easy to hit "sweet" as most of the newest stuff...great price too. Then you will have money left over to get a separate driver if you find one to your liking.

Remember, the driver, the sand wedge(s) and the putter are the three most "personal" clubs in your bag...you should try them out if possible before purchase..of course that is true for the irons as well..but those three clubs are the most difficult to find just the right feel.

PS ....selecting golf clubs is more about the feel in your hands than the technology.

I would go for a taylor made R580, (not the xd). They are selling for 199.99 pretty much everywhere. I'd also recomend checking out callawaygolfpreowned.com, they have a ton of good stuff in like new condition for great prices.

I have the x16 pro series, 900 gunmetal wedges, 2 ball heel shafted and a 983k. I'd recomend all of it but it was all damn expensive.

A great place for cheap clubs is ebay. Im also looking for new irons and am looking at Hogan Apex blades or Titleist DCI 762. The S59's from Ping also look sharp but out of my price range.
