sds 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 i might be mistaken, but I believe E widths come with an A heel. This may be a moot point, as RBKS are both wider and deeper boots than the vectors. because of this, the RBKs may turn out to be even sloppier on you than the vectors. The pump is a great feature, but is not meant to make up for an improper fit. the skate should fit properly before inflating the bladder. Otherwise, it's not worth the extra cost. where do the vectors feel "sloppy"?I called RBK and an E width is 1/8" wider from toe to heel.I have some movement in my heel that I want to get rid of, but at the same time my forefoot is too tight. I'm actually stunned that I got the D width to be fairly comfortable when I measure EE on any scale. Still, there are times when I get bad foot cramps. When I look at my feet, they look just like duck feet, so I know my forefoot is being squeezed. If the E 9k doesn't work, I will probably just cut bait and go custom. DamnLocust 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 If you fit in a D vector, chances are you'll get your foot in a D RBK and not need the E. If your heel is sloppy in a Vector, it will probably be worse in the RBK. RBKs D is wider than the Vector D. As seems to be the norm, your best bet would be to get fitted by a professional. No point in Paying ~$450 for a pair of skates only to find out that they don't work, and then have to shell out another $500+ for customs.

You should definitely give those a shot before you pay for custom skates...they fit wide, lock in the heel, and open up in the forefoot.I've got the "duck feet" too, and the reeboks actually fit me the worst of any skates I tried...vectors and tacks felt bearable, then the stealths fit perfectly. The S11 seems to be a pretty good skate for the price, if you can afford it. Maybe the syngergys fit similar too, but I don't know as I havent tried them. duch 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 I went for the 8K but originally looked at the 5K. I liked the fit and pump but there was a substantial difference between the weight of the 5K compared to the 8K that I immediately noticed. The 5K also seemed a bit more on the beefier side as well but the weight is what turned my off of them right away.I also wear the Synergy 1300's which are extremely light as well, but I like to alternate my skates when a pair is still damp from a game the night before, and the 5K would have been too much of anchor to deal with doing that. If I remember correctly, the problem with them was depth. Are Eastons shallow in general? Do they have a shallow line and maybe I didn't try on the right line? This was in January. duch 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 I think Easton are slightly shallower than say a RBK or CCM skate and there is a slightly forward lean on them, just a bit past a neutral contour you would get with a THC skate.Their not as severe a forward lean as you get with Grafs. It takes a bit of adjustment when switching from a CCM or Bauer skate but a bit more with the Bauer skate. If you're looking for a deeper skate you need to go with the Graf 705/G-5 or with CCM/RBK. This was in January. From my experience, the Eastons are probably a bit shallower than CCM or Reebok...I'm not sure if all of their skates run this way or not, I haven't tried on the synergys and this is the first time I've ever used Easton. I did notice that there's no way I would be lacing the top eyelets on the stealths, as it would be giving me ankle bite pretty bad during skating.
Fredrik 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2007 Didn't wanna start yet another RBK skates thread, but I was wondering if anybody had any info on these RBK Thrust Pump skates...RBK Thrust Pump Senior Skates

Hockeydog 8 Report post Posted July 28, 2007 I like the fit of my 5K's but do agree they are kind of bulky. Since the Tacks are gone, what CCM models fit like the 5k? Do the non-pump RBK's fit the same but with less bulk?

Datsyukiandeek 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2007 I blew out the pump on my right skate. It happend when I took a slapshot off of my ankle. It pumps and stays inflated for a few shifts. For the $225 I paid, im sort of disappointed with the 5ks. I may be upgrading to the 9ks if I can find some cheap.
