Huge Vapor XXX skate issue...what should i do?

Here's my story. I play hockey in Rochester New York and I purchased my most recent pair of vapor xxx size 7.5D skates from there. However as some of you may know, I am from Montreal, and currently am back in Montreal for the summer. Here's my problem. When I got the skates I brought them home without ever wearing them to get them contoured. $30 later I was told that the left holder was mismounted, and would take time to fix i said ok. $15 later I come to pick up my skates and the sharpener tells me that the holders are 263 instead of 272!!! He checked all of his other 7.5D in stock and saw that they had 272 holders. Even my friends here have 272 on their xxxs, and mine are 263. You can easily notice the space in the front and back from a small holder. I've skated on these skates and notice a problem. Since I'm used to 272s and get a 13' contour, i usually have more blade on the ice, and now I notice that I dont. My LHS in montreal said they would try and contact the rep but may be tough to get my holders replaced since I purchased them in New York and not Montreal.

My question is what should I do? I don't have $120+ for new holders and steel and contour, and I am able to notice the blade difference on the ice. JR, Chadd? Maybe even the Bauer guy on here, what am I to do? This is obviously a defect from Bauer's production line, and I find that since I've skated in Bauer for 20 years and nothing else, something should be done for their mistake correct?

I also wear a 7.5D in the Vapor XXX's and mine came with 263 holders on them. Mine are pro stock that I got from my college team. I guess you can call Bauer and see what they have to say about it or take the holders and steel off an old pair of skates.

no way am i going ot drive 5 hrs ot get my skates fixed. So Bauer is going to tell the montreal store to replace them even though they weren't bought there?

I have a pair of Bauer 8000 7.5D and the holders are 263. 7.5EE skates go up to 272 holders. Are you sure you have d width skates?

yes i am sure, and i'm sure that every pair we looked at in store had 263s. I've been on a 272 for 7 years

Go back to the LHS in Montreal and ask to contact the rep to tell him/her what happened. Bauer should send the store a pair of XXXs to give to you. It's the fault of the manufacturer and they will fix it.

Wait, I read that wrong. I thought it said that you had a 272 and a 263. (mismatched holders)

The skate is supposed to have a 263, the 7.5EE has the next size up. Not a defect.

Regardless, it is up to the shop if they want to swap out for you.

I just checked our XXXX skate stock. The 7.5 D has a 263 on it, left and right.

JR then why did the others have 272s on it, meaning the other stock and my friends. If you look at the skate and my xxs with 272s, you can see how the 263 is much shorter
