Wasted my time watching that fight....glad I didnt pay to see it....

that would have sucked paying for that fight

keep in mind that is just the main event fight.

There were several other good fights that night that were very entertaining.

i still don't know how liddel got ko on that punch

He didn't get KO-ed from that punch. It was a hard hit and it dazed him but he wasn't done until the third punch while he was down. The hit was enough for him to fall(he was off-balance already) and to pause before defending himself, that's all it takes.

I saw it at a buddies place, i didn't pay for it myself but it was worth it. The other fights were very good, it's not like boxing where nearly half the fights are boring.

Even though he was KO'd he still got up and was standing pretty quickly. I thought that was pretty amazing, he was up in like a minute.

Rampage KO'd him on the ground with a punch, then woke him up with the next one.

Wow, watching that "Shogun" guy video, what a bitch. How are you about to win by just stomping on someone in the face and kicking them while their down in the face trying to get up. What a bitch way to fight, I hope if he does come over to UFC he gets his shit rocked and someone just blasts him in the face with a nice boot to the face.

All I saw from him were a lot of wild punches and kicks, some stomping and one decent submission. If they match him well he could go undefeated for a while but if you put him in the ring with a judo expert, for emaple, he'll be done.

Though I'm not a personal fan of martial arts, people here in Brazil are pretty proud of Shogun, and also Wanderlei Silva.

Silva is a badass. I love watching him fight.

What about the Gracies?

Oh definitely, especially in Rio de Janeiro, where Jiu Jitsu as a whole is a lot more popular. They're the family that started it all here in Brazil.

Some members of the Gracie family (I don't remember specific names, but they all begin with R!) have wreaked havoc in Rio though, going out looking for fights. There is a good deal of backlash against 'pitboys' as they're called here, guys who train and work out very hard, only to beat on people half their size in a nightclub or bar.

That's how you win in pride. You do what you can, that's why at first pride fighters don't look great over here, even though they're pretty much all better.

Cro Cop got beat over here, but it was by a former-pride former-chute boxe guy.

All the Chute Box guys can grapple with you, but why when they can stomp you out?

Shogun's lost twice, and once was because he landed wrong on his arm, destroyed his elbow, and missed almost three years.

And thing is with Shogun is, he might only have a handful of submission wins, you aren't going to make him submit, so you better stand with him and just take your chances. And your chances aren't good.

All I saw from him were a lot of wild punches and kicks, some stomping and one decent submission. If they match him well he could go undefeated for a while but if you put him in the ring with a judo expert, for emaple, he'll be done.

Shogun's a black belt in BJJ, he's not some kickboxer.

Pride fighters will dominate once they come over. Look at Rampage. He destroyed Liddell in this fight as well as their first fight.

Yep, and he was dominated in Pride by guys like Wandy and Shogun.

That's the one thing a lot of american fans don't understand, pride might not have had a cool cage or anything, but it had the better fighting.

From the little I've watched of both (just starting to get into it now) Pride's more entertaining and the fighters seem more dangerous.

I'm still can't figure out how in the world Liddell was favoured for this fight.

It's more dangerous 'cause unlike america there aren't a trillion rules with the state boards.

This is why I think there's going to be a lot more international PPVs for UFC where they can fight under pride rules.

That fight saturday would have probably kept going another 30 seconds in pride, chuck would have been given a chance to recover. Though he did go limp after the third good shot.

I don't know, especially since Rampage threw him around like he was a welterweight in the first fight.

It's Dana White's show and his company and his advertising money and therefore his hype. It would have looked bad to hype the newcommer over one of the guys who has been his bread and butter over the years. Despite their controversies, Dana and Chuck have done very well off each other. Now the torch can be safely passed and Jackson can start getting the hype and hopefully the fights and money. It is all about the money in the end...

Why not pump it up as a great fight? The old vs the new? Now he has a ton of people calling lucky fight, early stoppage, etc when the fight was only going to get worse because people don't respect what Rampage is capable of.

Just calling them how I see them based on that video.
